Gamers, I have finally graduated from college. Here’s hoping that I get a good job, or at least, something that is vastly more happier than my day job. Maybe support my Patreon? Whatever, let’s look at the best stuff personally sent to my inbox. I apologize if your game is not covered in here, I feel guilty about not including everything but listen, I have to be a curator. This is the way it was meant to be.
Ferret Scoundrels

Developer: Cryogenic Entertainment
Release Date: May 9, 2019
Do you want to sail out on the open seas and commit naval crimes? Do you like ferrets? Ferret Scoundrels, currently on Steam Early Access, combines those things, giving you the experience of playing as ferrets in funny pirate costumes. Starting out on a humble raft, you gradually expand your power as a pirate, trader/explorer, navalman, etc, living out a swashbuckling dream. To be honest, I kinda like the look of it so far and would like to see how the game ends up shaping out.
Overstep
Developer: Gamecan
Release Date: 2019
What do fictional governments in a futuristic setting like to do when civil unrest is at an all-time high? Throw in some bread and circuses with a death game! Though, in this case, no lives are being harmed, with gamers across the galaxy taking control of robots to participate in death matches to represent the biggest corporations in space.
Overstep is a 5v5 third-person death match game where you play as robots duking it out in an arena. These robots are highly mobile, able to wall-run, grind on rails and do some sick tricks that would make Tony Hawk proud. I kinda want the aesthetics to lean more into flashy nonsense, but this is extremely my shit, I love stylish violence. Other people seem to agree, as this game stood out to be the best at GameDevDays, an Estonian game developer conference.
Othercell
Developer: alienohat
Release Date: N/A
Othercell is an indie RPG inspired by the likes of Final Fantasy, Shin Megami Tensei and Resident Evil. Adam Brandt is a police officer in a world where an alternate dimension dubbed “the Silent Side” exists besides them and a terrorist group called Goddess’ Voices runs rampant. A year after an attack claims the lives of his family, Adam is suddenly pulled into a larger conflict that could decide the fate of the world.
Battles are standard, but Adam can also “link” with enemies to get them to join as party members. As somebody that was really into the Shin Megami Tensei series, this might be something I’d be personally into. It even has a demo out, so who knows, I’ll probably check this out.
Vambrance: Cold Soul
Developer: Devespresso Games
Publisher: Headup
Release Date: May 28 for PC, Q3 2019 for consoles
Aaaand we’ll be closing this one off with another RPG, Vambrance: Cold Soul. Its whole style kinda makes me think of those anime workshop mods for Darkest Dungeon, but without the jarring juxtaposition of an anime girl in a grimdark setting.
Evelia Lyric arrives at Icenaire, a town cursed to be under never-ending cold by the King of Shades, on the wishes of her late father. The town’s original residents live underground while shades and the undead roam the surface. Recruiting mercenaries from underground, Lyric must lead expeditions in the hopes of ending the town’s nightmare.
